Obituary for Charles Burkhart

Charles R. "Charlie"  Burkhart went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2019 at the age of 68.   He was born on September 30, 1950 to the late Bentley and Tisha Burkhart in Harlan, KY.  

Charlie is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Kim (nee Baker) Burkhart of 36 years. Loving father to Lynette (Barry) King and Charles Jr. (Carrie). Dear grandfather to Daniel & Hannah King and Emily & Charles Burkhart III. He also leaves behind his fur baby, Maddie.   He is survived by his sister, Sylvia (Jimmy) Griffin of Pathfork, KY; brothers, Earl (Dale) and Levi (Louanna) Burkhart of Harlan KY; and sister-in-law, Margaret Burkhart. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers. He was a devoted son-in-law to Mayme and the late Bill Baker. He was a wonderful brother-in-law to Kathy Baker of Batavia, OH and Karol (Greg) Stafford of Cincinnati, OH. Charlie was a very special uncle to Randy & Felicia Saylor, Kristie Boggs, Jonathan Burkhart, Chris Berning, Danielle Evins, Michelle Roos, Mike Stafford, Nick Caldwell, Ava Roos, and Jax & Rory Stafford.  

He was a loyal employee of G & W Products of Fairfield, OH for 26 years. He loved his job and work friends. Charlie was a true family man who loved his family with all of his heart. He enjoyed every moment with them. His family was the most important thing in his life. He adored Kim and loved her deeply. He was the most kind-hearted man you would ever meet and would do anything for anyone. 

He loved God and was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.   Charlie will be missed greatly by all of his family and friends. 

There will be a visitation at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 4416 Fayard Drive, Batavia on Saturday, August 10 from 12 noon until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
