Obituary for Edward M. Morrison

On Monday, June 3, 2019, Edward (Ed) Morrison passed away peacefully at age 60 from Pancreatic Cancer, which he valiantly fought for 14 months, surrounded by family and friends.

Ed was born on December 28, 1958 in Cincinnati, OH to Lawrence and Zella (Belcher) Morrison. He attended East Central High School and graduated in 1977. On September 10, 2011 he married his soulmate, Rhonda (Bruning) Morrison.

Ed was an avid golfer who scored three hole-in-ones during his lifetime. He also loved bowling and had a perfect 300 game in 2009. Another interest was playing board and card games, especially Texas Hold’em. Travel was another passion, Ed and Rhonda enjoyed visiting Gatlinburg where they renewed their wedding vows in 2016, St. Petersburg, Florida, and Las Vegas. He was also known for his quick wit, infectious smile, his love of music and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Zella, parents-in-law William and Jean Bruning, as well as a brother, Terry and a granddaughter, Adelaide.

He is survived by his wife Rhonda, his three children, Aimee (Paul) Rye, Brian (Lindsay) Morrison, Carrie (Rodney) Wilson their mother, Nancy Garcia and his two step-children, Julie (Matthew) Stock, and Brian (Megan Dmochowski) Roberts and a sister, Rose Campbell. Ed will be fondly remembered by seven grandchildren, Adrian and Ethan Rye, Lucien Morrison, Ava and Mia Wilson, and Hunter and Addison Stock. A very special friend to Ed and Rhonda, Karen Funk, also survives.

Ed has chosen cremation, which has occurred. A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 20th at the Village of Coldstream Clubhouse located at 989 Meadowland Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45255 at 3:00 p.m.

The family would also like to thank the Christ Hospital Hematology/Oncology Physician’s group, especially Slobodan Stanisic, M.D., Catherine DeGroff, PAC, as well as the nursing staff for their wonderful care, and Crossroads Hospice for providing comfort during Ed's final days.
