Obituary for James A. "Jim" Colyer

James A. “Jim” Colyer, age 85, passed away on November 30, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

“Jim” was preceded in death by his parents, Littleton and Pearl Colyer. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna R. Colyer. Loving father of Charles D. (Kim) Colyer, Tamra R. (Joe) Rodriguez, and Christy L. Colyer. Cherished grandfather of Brianna, Courtney, Joey, Cameron, Paige, Nate, and CJ. Beloved great-grandfather of Cali and Lily.

Jim was an impeccable athlete throughout his high school career, playing baseball, basketball, and football, and was inducted into his high school Hall of Fame. He continued his football career while he was away at college and that passion for sports later led him to become a coach for little league softball. His free time was filled with golfing and playing tennis. Family, to Jim, was of utmost importance and he was known to be a fun, loving grandpa. He also had numerous lifelong friendships. Any time Jim was asked “how are you doing?” he was sure to give them back a big “FANTASTIC”.

A memorial service will be held for Jim on Friday December 7, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Glen Este, 1034 Old State Rt. 74 Batavia, Ohio 45103 at 4:00 P.M. with visitation at 2:00 P.M. until service time.
