Obituary for Marvin Singleton

Marvin Singleton, 92, of Milford, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at his residence.  He was born April 22, 1927 in Elmwood Place, Ohio and grew up in Casey County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Deronda and Rose Owens Singleton.  He was the devoted husband of the late Billie Lou Orr Singleton, married for 64 years, who passed away in 2015. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford and Robert Singleton; sister, Marcella Blades and a granddaughter, Katie Broecker.

Marvin honorably served his country in the United States Navy in World War II.  He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1951. He served as a missionary for 17 years with Kentucky Mountain Mission after retiring from the Ford Motor Company.

He is survived by his children, Ruthanne Singleton, Stephen (Beverly) Singleton, John (Nita) Singleton, Linda (William) Rillo and Patricia (Richard) Broecker; grandchildren, Adam, Matthew and Mark Singleton, Christopher, Brooke and Hope Broecker, Amanda Smith, Jodi Everest, Theresa Scherzinger, Denise Wykle; 17 great-grandchildren and his brothers, Glenn (Edith) Singleton and Troy (Esther) Singleton.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM, until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Glen Este, 1034 Old SR 74, Batavia, OH 45103.  Burial will be held at Goshen Township Cemetery. Services are entrusted to the E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia.
